O'neal Pignani aka. Vonkreep, Dr. Shriek, Doktor Viktor, Retrokid just to name a few. Reinventing himself yet again with a fresh coat of fake legitimacy, a shiny new alias going by Captain or Cap’n Retrovania and Captain Starcade. Same snake, just new skin.
O'neal's new "projects" or just fake pages include Retrovania Land easily found on twitter, a Leftoverpizza zine found on Patreon which is promoting tiered monthly subscriber levels that promise subscribers digital zine' downloads (none are available yet, pre-order is the key term). There is also a fake spiels asking for backers to fund these projects with goals reaching 15k including a Plan 9 from Outer Space remake AND a TMNT project you might be able under "Dawn of the Mutations", these are only "phase 1 productions" funding costs, similar to what he has done and failed to follow through with in the past. O’Neal is peddling these projects on multiple sites including reddit, X and tiktok and has likely already scammed artists out of commission artwork pieces as he has already done many times before.

Horror convention page (@vegashorrorconvention) warning that the scam artist
duo had been reaching out to vendors claiming to be associated with them.
I found this con couple (iykyk) is using cashapp under "retrovanianland" and “$ilovehalloween1313” in order to collect these funds. BUT to confirm this was the same people, I found some posts from a year ago with desperate pleas for help with money, (not the honest kind of help, more like, give us money so we can keep not working) but long story short, confirmed the same username to send payment. I was also able to find through facebook groups they had at least been reported as scammers and banned from those groups from asking for money to help feed their cats.
I am posting this here because after all was said and done with Atomic Monster Weekend, The police didn’t care, Our card companies didn’t care, the payment services didn’t care, the disputes went no where. He walked away with the cash, we walked away with the loss. To put it in perspective, just for Atomic Monster Weekend, say only 50 vendors paid say $300 each for a spot, that’s fifteen THOUSAND dollars, not including the artists that made items and gave their talent and time without payment.
As artists and creators, I feel we pour our heart and soul into what we do. And not just the time and effort, everything creatively and emotionally its all personal. So when someone like this comes along and scams vendors, ghosts customers, steals work, or rebrands stolen ideas as their own… it doesn’t just cost us money. It takes a piece of what us, our art and everything poured into it.
This guy doesn’t just scam. He exploits trust. He takes advantage of passionate, hardworking people who are EXTREMELY talented and creative and unique, who are just trying to create, connect, and grow, and work for all they do, unlike him. And I refuse to let him keep doing that in silence. I’m tired of seeing people get away with this kinda thing and seeing artists work stolen and friends being let down.
I hope others share, if not just to let what they have to say be out there, but to promote and support each other too, but please comment with your story or other links to get his info out there. And also, report these pages if that’s your thing, that might be a way to get him banned from continuing to do this.
And artists and vendors, please don’t offer or be talked into doing work FOR FREE and with people you may not know, Please KNOW YOUR WORTH, and do to the same to others, ask questions, and most importantly, DONT BE A POS.
If you are being asked to make payment through services like zelle and cashapp, you will not be able to get refunds for scams like these, especially if you do not know the person before hand.
